Erica Unz | DVM
Dr. Erica’s path to veterinary medicine was not a straight one. In fact, she started her working career right out of high school as an EMT, working on ambulances, fire engines and in human emergency rooms. To add to her technical education, Dr. Erica also completed a massage therapy degree. She completed her veterinary degree at Mississippi State University in 2017, and has specialized in shelter medicine and high-quality, high-volume sterilization, even earning her Masters degree from the University of Florida studying Shelter Medicine in 2022.
Dr. Erica is committed to continuing education, promising to keep up with advancements in veterinary medicine, and has started her studies in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, manual manipulation (think chiropractor, but for animals) and acupuncture, which will allow her to offer integrative medicine treatment plans. Stay tuned!
When Dr. Erica is not working, she enjoys traveling the world and more specifically, participating in large spay/neuter events in other countries. She also enjoys spending time with her family and is the proud cat mom of three rescue kitties who are purrfect!
